Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:29107
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) identified 21 design options for increasing furnace and boiler efficiency in its Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR) for National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA) minimum efficiency standards. An assessment of these options is presented in the two-volume report. The second volume contains appendixes, presenting baseline capacity specifications; DOE proposed changes to AFUE test procedure, validation of the `FURNACE` simulation program; appliance shipment data and equipment characteristics; details of technical and economic analyses of the design options; a summary of the American Gas Association/utility supported survey results; comments on project plans and technical issues presented at the ANOPR product hearings; and energy price projections.
