This decision document represents the selected remedial action for the BFI-Rockingham Landfill Superfund Site in Rockingham, Vermont. The remedial measures described in this ROD will protect the drinking water aquifer and Connecticut River by minimizing further migration of contamination into the ground water and surface water, will eliminate the potential for direct contact and/or incidental ingestion of the material within the landfill, and will control landfill gas and prevent exposure to landfill gas containing hazardous substances. The selected remedy consists of operating and maintaining the existing Site controls to achieve the natural restoration of the ground water and protect surface water.
