The study, conducted by Gilbert/Commonwealth International, was funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency on behalf of the Committee of Energy of the Government of Bulgaria. The report presents the results of a comprehensive study to upgrade the capacity, reliability and efficiency of the District Heating Systems in Sofia and Pernik Cities. The study also covers the condition of the existing facilities and equipment as well as plans for upgrading and the implementation of new equipment for the plants. The report is divided into 11 volumes. Volume 2 contains the Existing Plant Facilities Descriptions and is divided into the following sections: (1) General; (2) Plant Facilities Description at Pernik City; (3) Operation and Maintenance of the Thermal Power Stations; (4) Technical Condition of Thermal Power Station `Republika`; (5) Electrical Part-Project Data, Technical Condition, Problems; (6) Electrical Part-Design Data, Technical Condition, Problems; (7) District Heating Systems; (8) Existing Plant Facilities Description at District Heating System of Sofia City.
