This conference was held March 31--April 3, 1996 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The purpose of the conference was to provide a multidisciplinary forum for exchange of state-of-the-art information on solid waste processing. Recent regulatory developments have impacted air emissions and ash management. Therefore, the solid waste processing industry, in particular incineration and waste-to-energy, has faced a major challenge. Individual papers have been processed separately for inclusion in the appropriate data bases.
