Determination of the thermal neutron induced {sup 36}Cl({ital n},{ital p}){sup 36}S and {sup 36}Cl({ital n},{alpha}){sup 33}P reaction cross sections

The cross sections of the {sup 36}Cl({ital n}{sub th},{ital p}){sup 36}S and the {sup 36}Cl({ital n}{sub th},{alpha}){sup 33}P reactions were measured with thermal neutrons at the high flux reactor of the ILL in Grenoble. For the {sup 36}Cl({ital n}{sub th},{ital p}){sup 36}S reaction cross section a precise value of (47{plus_minus}2)mb was obtained and for the {sup 36}Cl({ital n}{sub th},{alpha}){sup 33}P reaction a cross section value of (0.59{plus_minus}0.07)mb was determined. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
