Preparation and characterization of A(I)PUO{sub 6}{center_dot}nH{sub 2}O compounds

A series of structural analogs of formula A(I)PUO{sub 6}{center_dot}nH{sub 2}O, where A(I) = Li{sup +}, Na{sup +}, K{sup +}, Rb{sup +}, Cs{sup +}, and NH{sub 4}{sup +}, is synthesized by reaction of crystalline HPUO{sub 6}{center_dot}4H{sub 2}O with A(I)OH in aqueous solution. These compounds are characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and thermography. Their properties are studied. Structural features and certain crystal chemical trends are found.
