Risk assessment guidance for superfund (165.6). Training course
This course provides participants with the fundamentals of human health and ecological risk assessment as applied to the Superfund cleanup process. The course is specifically designed for Superfund risk assessors, risk assessment reviewers, remedial project managers, and risk managers. The risk assessment process is presented in three stages: baseline risk assessment, development of preliminary remediation goals, and evaluation of cleanup alternatives. In addition, topics discussed are: applicable statutes, regulations, and guidance; data collection and evaluation; exposure assessment; toxicity assessment; risk characterization; principles of ecological assessment; ecological field assessments methods. Current technical and information resources will also be discussed.
