The report addresses H.R. 2448 a bill to improve the accuracy of radon testing products and services, to increase funding for radon and for other purposes. The legislative text and background and need for the legislation is given. The bill amends the Toxic Substances Control Act and further provides for a strategy to identify and reduce the exceptionally high indoor radon levels, to promote and facilitate the testing and mitigation of vulnerable premises, and to create a commission to promote increased public awareness of the health threats of radon exposure which is produced by decay of uranium in soils.
