Soft contribution to form factors of the {gamma}{sup {asterisk}}{ital p}{r_arrow}{Delta}{sup +} transition

The purely nonperturbative soft contribution to the {gamma}{sup {asterisk}}{ital p}{r_arrow}{Delta}{sup +} transition form factors is estimated using a model based on the local quark-hadron duality. In this approach, the soft contribution is shown to be dominated by the magnetic transition: the ratio {ital G}{sub {ital E}}{sup {asterisk}}({ital Q}{sup 2})/{ital G}{sub {ital M}}{sup {asterisk}}({ital Q}{sup 2}) is small for all accessible {ital Q}{sup 2}, in contrast with PQCD expectation that {ital G}{sub {ital E}}{sup {asterisk}}({ital Q}{sup 2}){r_arrow}{minus}{ital G}{sub {ital M}}{sup {asterisk}}({ital Q}{sup 2}). We also found that the soft contribution to the magnetic form factor is large enough to explain the magnitude of existing experimental data. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
