Comment on {open_quote}{open_quote}Determination of highly excited states of diatomic-molecular ions using exact H{sub 2}{sup +}-like orbitals{close_quote}{close_quote}
- Institute of Physics, Nicholas Copernicus University 87-100 Torun (Poland)
Recently, Le Sech [Phys. Rev. A {bold 51}, R2668 (1995)] presented results of variational computations of electronic energies for some two-electron diatomic-molecular ions. These energies, obtained with a very simple wave function, are, for some internuclear distances, lower than ever reported. We claim that these results are incorrect. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
