Production of {ital J}/{psi} pairs at DESY HERA-{ital N}{searrow}

The production of {ital J}/{psi} pairs as a possible measure of the polarized gluon distribution {Delta}{ital G}({ital x}) is studied for proton-nucleon collisions at {radical}{ital s}=40 GeV (DESY HERA-{ital N}{searrow}). The possibilities of reconstructing the helicity state of at least one of the {ital J}/{psi}{close_quote}s are critically reviewed. The observation of production asymmetries in the single polarized mode of HERA-{ital N}{searrow} is found to be not feasible. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
