Discretized light cone quantization and the coherent state basis
- Department of Physics, University of Bombay, Vidyanagri, Santa Cruz (East), Bombay-400098 (India)
We suggest the use of a coherent state basis to calculate the Hamiltonian matrix elements in the discretized light cone quantization method of bound state calculations as a possible way of avoiding the vanishing energy denominators and the resulting true infrared singularities. As an example, we obtain the light cone Schr{umlt o}dinger equation for positronium using the coherent state basis and show the absence of the {open_quote}{open_quote}Coulomb singularity.{close_quote}{close_quote} {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
