Photoionization with excitation to open-shell atom of Cu

Journal Article · · Bulletin of the American Physical Society
OSTI ID:281502
Many-body perturbation theory has been used to calculate photoionization cross sections with excitation of open-shell atom of copper. Resonance structure due to both one-electron excitations and two-electron excitations has been included. The four different total final channels have been considered in our calculations, and the interactions between these final state channels have been discussed. The large nonresonant photoionization into excitation 3d{sup 9} 4p final state is found. The enhanced resonances in the 3d{sup 8} 4s{sup 2} due to super-Coster-Kronig decay occur in the region of 3p threshold, which are compared with experimental measurements and other calculations. The total cross section is in good agreement with experimental value.
