The doubly differential cross sections in angle and energy for the ionization of hydrogen atoms by electrons are calculated. The calculation is based upon the first Born approximation in which a Coulomb wave function is used for the slow ejected electron. Comparison between recent experimental measurements made by Shyn is presented for incident energies of 100ev, 150ev and 250ev. Total cross sections obtained through integration over solid angles and ejected electron energies are also compared to the experimental results.
