Calculation of the photodetachment cross section for Li{sup {minus}} up to the 4s threshold of lithium

Partial photodetachment cross sections for Li{sup -} for leaving the resulting Li atom in the n = 2 and n = 3 states are calculated using the eigenchannel R-matrix method. These partial cross sections are found to have significant resonance structures above the 3s threshold of Li. Our results for the partial cross sections for the Li atom in the n = 2 states are compared with the results of experiment and another calculation, and good agreement is found with each of these other results.
