Single and double electron loss of H{sup -} with SF{sub 6} in the energy range 1 to 5 keV

Journal Article · · Bulletin of the American Physical Society
OSTI ID:281257

The absolute total cross sections values for single and double electron loss of H{sup -} by SF{sub 6} have been measured in the energy range 1 to 5 keV. The single electron loss cross sections have an almost constant value, a behavior which has been found to be similar to that observed in some rare gas targets, but the latter having a somewhat higher value. The double electron loss cross sections increase monotonically over one order of magnitude with the velocity of the projectile in the energy range of investigation.
