Resonant energies and widths of even-parity doubly excited autoionization series of helium
We present the theoretical resonant energies and widths of the even-parity {sup 1,3}S and {sup 1,3}D doubly excited autoionization, series below the He{sup +} N=2 threshold using an extended B-spline based configuration-interaction calculation. The resonant energies and widths are determined by examining the energy variation of the probability density corresponding to the singly excited ionization channel. Our calculation has shown that the resonant widths vary smoothly as functions of the effective quantum number {nu} along the autoionization series and approach approximately an {nu}{sup 3}-dependence as {nu} increases. Similar {nu}{sup 3}-dependence is also found for the odd-parity {sup 1,3}P autoionization series. Comparison with some of the most accurate theoretical results will be presented.
