Total demand for natural gas in 2010 is projected to be 25.9 quadrillion Btu (quads). Total supply is projected to be 26.0 quads. The two graphs included with this column lists the sectors that add up to total demand and the sources giving total supply. But there`s much more to the story behind A.G.A.`s biennial study of trends in gas supply and demand. This paper highlights some of the trends. The conclusions of the A.G.A. report compare closely with the most recent forecast by the Department of Energy`s Energy Information Administration (EIA), which in its Annual Energy Outlook 1995 estimates total demand and supply of 25.3 quads for the year 2010.
