Relativistic incoherent Thomson scattering spectrum for generalized Lorentzian distributions
- Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Naka-machi, Naka-gun, Ibaraki 311-01 (Japan)
The applicability of incoherent Thomson scattering measurement is expanded to a class of non-Maxwellian plasmas which can be described by generalized Lorentzian (kappa) distributions. A fully relativistic scattering spectrum is presented in an analytic form which allows the possibility of a more robust estimation of the bulk electron temperature in the existence of high energy tail component. {copyright} {ital 1996 American Institute of Physics.}
