Limits on nonstandard top quark couplings from electroweak measurements

We calculate the typical size of loop corrections to electroweak observables arising from nonstandard {ital Z{bar t}t} and {ital Wtb} vertices. We use an effective Lagrangian formalism based on the electroweak gauge gorup SU(2){sub {ital L}}{times}U(1){sub {ital Y}}{r_arrow}U(1){sub E}{sub M}. Limits on the nonstandard model top quark couplings from electroweak observables are presented and compared with previously obtained limits. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
