The 31st Symposium on Engineering Aspects of Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is sponsored by SEAM, Inc., and hosted by MSE, Inc. This Symposium is a continuation of an annual series in which engineers and scientists from the United States and around the world gather to exchange information, disseminate new ideas, and keep abreast of developments in MHD technology. Papers in this proceedings are divided into different areas, the major groupings include: international program status; proof-of-concept testing; generators; closed-cycle MHD plasma and fluid dynamics; MHD plasma and fluid dynamics; combustion systems; MHD plant engineering; magnet and power conditioning; instrumentation and diagnostics; and demonstration and commercialization. Separate articles have been indexed into the database for contributions to the proceedings.
