Ozone application for cooling tower water

The purpose of this paper is to review the findings of an extensive research effort aimed at addressing the use of ozone as a total cooling water treatment program. These studies include correlation of laboratory and field investigations. The laboratory investigations provide the critical aspect of good control of important variables, such as the presence or absence of ozone, and the field investigations provide an important measuring stick for appraising the applicability of the laboratory results. In order to conclusively define the properties associated with ozone, whenever possible, performance results obtained under identical conditions, with and without ozone, will be considered.
