Waste reduction: An essential element to the long-term success of business recycling programs

The main elements of the program are upper management support, collection of recyclable materials, employee and customer education, waste reduction, and procurement of recycle products. Numerous case studies are presented of businesses receiving awards for program participation. It is concluded that implementing waste reduction practices is a catalyst for program longevity.
