The characteristics of coal devolatilization in PFBs
- Southeast Univ., Nanjing (China)
This paper considers the characteristics of coal devolatilization and char combustion in pressurized fluidized beds (PFBs). Using different sorts of coal with various particle size, a serious of tests were carried out under various bed pressure and temperature in a small scale PFB combustor. During the tests, the amount of discharged volatile of coal decreased when bed pressure rose, whereas the char combustion rate was increased. The tests also showed that there were no obvious difference in coal devolatilization, and char combustion as well, between various bed temperature within 900 C to 1,000 C. The experimental data obtained can be applied to calculate the fundamental parameters both in mathematical modeling and PFBs plant operating.
