The objective of this study is to evaluate the ash slagging behavior of various candidate coals in gasifier condition from their physical and chemical properties using DTF. For the Alaska coal, it was identified that the mineral matters which are included in coal as various compounds were transformed to mullite and gehlenite in gasification reaction. And they were finally transformed to amorphous aluminosilicate phase. Flux effect was also determined that ash fusion temperature has a minimum value when the amounts of total basic element is about 35--40%. However, the amount of total basic elements exceeded this range, the fusion temperature is increased again.
