D{sub NN}(0{degrees}) measurements for (p,n) reactions on {sup 17,18}O at 120 MeV

The relative weighting of Gamow-Teller and Fermi cross sections in 0{degrees}(p,n) spectra has been parameterized previously as a function of bombarding energy by Taddeucci etal.. The {sup 17}O(p,n){sup 17}F(g.s.) transition was studied to examine an unexpected fluctuation in this parameterization for odd mass nuclei. For even mass nuclei, the empirical parameterization is well determined and was used to separate the 0{sup +}(1.04 MeV) and 0{sup -}(1.08 MeV) final states in the {sup 18}O(p,n) reaction. Results will be presented.
