In search of color transparency

Color transparency is one of a class of coherent phenomena where the QCD structure of bound hadronic states is expected to be important in hadron dynamics. If this weakening of hadron-nucleus final state interactions were observed in high momentum transfer, hard, exclusive reactions, it would tell much about the dominant mechanisms of hard interactions and the temporal evolution of the scattering process. Experiments measuring the nuclear dependence of proton and electron quasifree-proton-knockout and exclusive p-meson muon-production have produced intriguing results but not, as yet, compelling proof that this mechanism is significant at momentum transfer scales of 1-10 (GeV/c){sup 2}. These data and ideas to explore this phenomena in new ways in future experiments at the new generation of accelerators will be discussed.
