Spacelike penguin diagram effects in {ital B}{implies}{ital P}{ital P} decays

The spacelike penguin diagram contributions to branching ratios and {ital CP} asymmetries in charmless decays of {ital B} to two pseudoscalar mesons are studied using the next-to-leading order low energy effective Hamiltonian. Both the gluonic penguin and the electroweak penguin diagrams are considered. We find that the effects are significant. {copyright} {ital 1995 The American Physical Society.}
