Health care: Desert Samaritan Medical Center

Desert Samaritan Hospital, located in Mesa, Arizona, has endeavored to save money in various ways, and some of its projects have led to substantial savings. One consideration has been light bulb replacement costs. The hospital`s lighting budget has a major financial impact, and $1,000/yr can be saved by replacing light bulbs less frequently. This article describes a number of the lighting retrofit programs undetaken by the hospital, the equipment used, power savings, and cost recovery periods.
