In the decay, {ital K}{sup +}{implies}{pi}{sup 0}{mu}{sup +}{nu}, a value for the T-violating triple correlation {ital P}{sub {ital T}}{identical_to}{ital s}{searrow}{sub {mu}{sup +}}{center_dot}({ital p}{searrow}{sub {mu}{sup +}}{times}{ital p}{searrow}{sub {pi}{sup 0}})/ {vert_bar}{ital p}{searrow}{sub {mu}{sup +}}{times}{ital p}{searrow}{sub {pi}{sup 0}}{vert_bar}, of order 10{sup -3}, would signal new physics beyond the standard model. An experimental search at this level will be carried out at KEK. It is essential to be able to detect such a small T-odd transverse component of the muon polarization in the presence of a dominant T-even component in the plane defined by the muon and pion momenta, and also to eliminate any systematic errors associated with the apparatus. {copyright} {ital 1995 American Institute of Physics.}
