A short spin rotator for LEP
- CERN, CH-1211 Geneva 23 (Switzerland)
A short spin rotator for LEP compatible with the LEP-200 optics is presented. The normally vertical spin vector is rotated by 90 degrees to become horizontal at the intersection point, and is then rotated back to vertical. The spin rotator is spin matched (i.e. the polarization is not depressed by the rotator) at the {ital Z}{sub 0} energy of 45.6 GeV. The rotator presented here is matched to intersection point five of LEP. The maximum vertical displacement of the beams (up on one side, down on the other side) is {plus_minus}0.48 m. {copyright} {ital 1995 American Institute of Physics.}
