Owners of embankment dams in Hungary have been extensively monitoring their structures for several years. The result is a compilation of data that can be used to ensure the safety of the country`s dams for years to come. This article reviews the historical aspects of safety surveillance at dams in Hungary and makes note of the methodolody used for displacement measurements and hydraulic meaurements.
