Selecting sorbents for cost savings

Journal Article · · Environmental Protection
OSTI ID:245228
A cost-stream analysis can be a beneficial tool to determine the best sorbent to reduce waste stream and operating costs. A fibrous material to adsorb drips, leaks, and spills versus more traditional granular sorbents may be more advantageous in some industrial settings. The type of sorbent utilized is becoming very important in light of efforts towards waste minimization and recycling efforts. This paper compares fibrous sorbents to granular sorbents.
