The pion-nucleon scattering is investigated by using the Kadyshevsky three-dimensional reduction of Bethe-Salpeter equation. The constructed potential consists of direct {ital N} and {Delta} terms, crossed {ital N} and {Delta} terms, and {sigma}- and {rho}-exchange terms. To simulate the broad s-wave two-pion exchange, both the scalar and vector {sigma}{pi}{pi} couplings are considered. Good agreements with the experimental {pi}{ital N} phase shifts up to 400 MeV have been obtained. {copyright} {ital 1995} {ital American} {ital Institute} {ital of} {ital Physics}.
