Poles in pion and antikaon interactions

Journal Article · · Bulletin of the American Physical Society
OSTI ID:243847
The locations of dynamic poles in the complex energy plane for the ({bar K}N, {Sigma}{pi}) system and the pion-nucleus system are investigated. In the {bar K}N case, several potential and quark bag models are investigated, including one which agrees with the kaonic hydrogen data. The single poles supported by the potential models as well as the double poles present in the bag models will be visualized, and their physical implications discussed. In the pion-nucleus case, the poles investigated are those describing deeply bound, quasi-atomic states in heavy nuclei; the existence of which are still uncertain.
