The authors report measurements of the frequency and damping of third sound for {sup 3}He-{sup 4}He mixture films adsorbed on a Nuclepore resonator for 30{le}T{le}600 mK. As a function of increasing temperature the third sound velocity is constant at low temperatures, then, with increasing temperature, decreases as {sup 3}He disolves into the film, and for higher temperatures, increases as the {sup 3}He evaporates from the film. These results are consistent with recent NMR measurements which probe the energetics of the {sup 3}He in the film. Comparisons between the excited state energy values obtained from third sound measurements with those obtained from NMR will be presented.
