Confining quark model of {rho}-{omega} mixing and NN charge symmetry breaking

Journal Article · · Bulletin of the American Physical Society
OSTI ID:243798
A recent examination of the quark loop mechanism for {rho}-{omega} mixing reveals a strong suppression as the amplitude is extrapolated into the space-like momentum region appropriate for an exchanged boson in the NN charge-symmetry breaking potential. This would destroy the satisfactory agreement obtained when the mixing amplitude is conventionally held fixed at its mass shell value. One possible problem with the above quark loop calculation is that use of a free quark propagator with a constituent mass produces a q{bar q} production singularity disturbingly close to the meson mass shell where results are to be normalized. The authors report results that employ a model quark propagator having a dynamical confining self-energy. The related off mass-shell behavior of the diagonal meson propagators is also included. Results will be described.
