Kinetics of oxygen reduction on La{sub 0.6}Sr{sub 0.4}Fe{sub 0.8}Co{sub 0.2}O{sub 3{minus}x}

This paper investigates the oxygen reduction process on the perovskite material La{sub 0.6}Sr{sub 0.4}Fe{sub 0.8}Co{sub 0.2}O{sub 3{minus}x} (LSFC), using a newly designed point contact electrode system. Experimental data were obtained at 900 C using electrochemical techniques including AC impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. SEM coupled with EDAX analysis was used to examine the tip of the point contact and the corresponding surface of the YSZ electrolyte substrate.
