The Pine Bend Sanitary Landfill (PBSL) site is located in northeast Dakota County, on the periphery of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, in Sections 27, 18 and 33, Township 27 North, Range 22 West, city of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The ground water contamination action recommended under Superfund for this portion of OU2 is a no action alternative. The existing ground water contamination will be addressed through an amended compliance permit with Pine Bend Landfill. These actions are necessary to address compliance with MPCA solid waste rules for an open operating sanitary landfill. In addition, PBLI is addressing ground water contamination from the CADL.
