Morphological character of grains and grain boundaries is one of the important factors controlling the physical and mechanical properties of materials for industrial application in the polycrystalline form. Plasticity and workability of polycrystalline materials are known to depend strongly on grain texture. Knowledge of the distribution of grain size and orientation of grains and the grain boundary character distribution (GBCD) is required to control the texture in the recrystallization and grain growth process. In this paper the relation between grain size and GBCD of Al-0.3mass% Mg alloy during grain growth was studied focusing on orientations and sizes of individual grains.
