High Temperature engineering Test Reactor (HTTR), a sort of High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR) has been developed at Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI) as high temperature heat source. Preliminary study of Iodine-Sulfur thermochemical hydrogen production process for nuclear heat utilizing system was conducted. In order to develop the closed-cycle operation of the process, the separation characteristics of 2 liquid phase, poly-hydriodic acid solution phase and sulfuric acid solution phase, was investigated and the variation of the solution composition in the process with the separation characteristics of 2 liquid phase was also analyzed.
