A screening-level ecological risk assessment (SLERA) was performed using guidance developed specifically for CERCLA driven risk assessment at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL). The guidance parallels EPA`s framework and incorporates unique approaches to address contaminant issues specific to INEL waste area groups (WAGS) including: the use of existing information to screen sites and contaminants, identification and evaluation of ecological receptors using functional groups, and the use of ecologically-based screening levels for identifying contaminants of potential concern. The SLERA results for INEL`s Waste Area Group 2 will be presented and discussed.
