  1. Duke Power Co., Huntersville, NC (United States)
Since the late 1980`s, McGuire Nuclear Station has undertaken to reduce inputs to the Floor Drain Tank system of Radwaste Processing. During that time period, the station has reduced inputs 80%, curies released by 97% and treatment media usage by 84%. This process incurred minimal capital investment, and has led to substantial cost savings in processing and disposal. Involvement in this effort is now station wide. This paper will deal with the steps that were taken by the Radwaste Chemistry department and the station as a whole, to achieve these results. It win also discuss future direction for continuing improvement.
