Crystal and molecular structure of the complex neptunium(V) acetate [(NpO{sub 2}){sub 2}(CH{sub 3}COO){sub 2}H{sub 2}O]{center_dot}C{sub 2}H{sub 3}N
- Inst. of Physical Chemistry, Moscow (Russian Federation)
The synthesis and crystal structure (CAD{sub 4} autodiffractometer, {lambda}MoK{sub {alpha}}radiation) of [(NpO{sub 2}){sub 2}Ac{sub 2}H{sub 2}O]{center_dot}C{sub 2}H{sub 3}N are described. Crystal data: (1) = 25.311(9), (2) = 6.782(2), (3) = 8.065(3) {Angstrom}, V = 1384.4(8) A{sup 3}, space group Pnma, Z = 4, R = 0.046, R{sub w} = 0.046 for 1505 independent reflections. The structure is based on neutral layers parallel to the (100) plane with the composition [Np(1)O{sub 2}Np(2)O{sub 2}Ac(1)Ac(2)H{sub 2}O]{sub n{center_dot}}. Acetonitrile molecules are located in the interlayer space. The coordination polyhedron of the Np(l) atom is pentagonal bipyramid (coordination number 7), and that of the NP(2) atom is a derivative of pentagonal bipyramid (coordination number 8) incorporating coordinated water molecule. In a layer, bidentate dioxo cations Np(1)O{sub 2}{sup +} and Np(2)O{sub 2}{sup +} are associated by cation-cation bonds into neptunium-oxygen network, in which rhombic prisms of 8 Np atoms may be distinguished. Geometric characteristics, features of the structure and properties of the compound are discussed.
