Machine Learning Application for CCUS Carbon Storage: Fracture Analysis and Mapping in The Illinois Basin

Conference ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2118/214996-MS· OSTI ID:2228745

Presentation at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) held in San Antonio, Texas, October 16-18, 2023. The presentation highlights the application of machine learning for fracture network mapping for CCUS use case in Illinois Basin – Decatur Project (IBDP) based on injection data and passive seismic data. The results will be coupled to the dynamic study for geomechanical impact quantification for monitoring and risk assessment for CO2 storage.
