The Rocky Mountain Pumped Storage Plant is located north of Rome, Georgia, and contains three reversible pump-turbine/motor-generator units rated to deliver a total of 850 MW on essentially a pure pumped-storage recirculating cycle. The plant is presently under construction with the first unit scheduled to be commissioned early in 1995. A microprocessor-based, Distributed Control System (DCS) is being used for comprehensive operation of the entire Plant complex.
