In Europe, biofiltration has been a widely used air pollution control technology for over 25 years with much success. Within the last 5 years, biofiltration has taken on the US air pollution control market with the same success. This talk will discuss biofiltrations applications and the various types of biofilter systems currently being used. As with any technology, there are advantages and disadvantages associated with each type of system. Because it is a relatively new technology in the US, there are many different types of systems currently being offered. This talk will cover the different types of system approaches, their advantages, disadvantages, and their associated costs. It will also illustrate a biofilters effectiveness using a case study and its results.
