Absorption of an electromagnetic wave by an inhomogeneous cylindrical particle

The absorption cross section is calculated for an electromagnetic wave whose field is directed along the symmetry axis of an inhomogeneous cylindrical particle. The general case of an arbitrary ratio of radii of a dielectric nucleus and a particle is considered. The condition of diffuse reflection of electrons from the internal and external surfaces of the metal particle layer is used as the boundary condition. The limiting cases are also analysed and the results are discussed. (interaction of laser radiation with matter. laser plasma)
