The characterization of fluorinated graphites

The characterization of solid fossil fuels by chemical derivatization and solid state NMR spectroscopy requires extensive modelling in less complex systems. The fluorination of graphite been obtained using dilute fluorine gas. The structure of the fluorocarbons produced have been determined.
