A novel manganese phosphite-oxalate, [C{sub 2}N{sub 2}H{sub 10}][Mn{sub 2}{sup II}(OH{sub 2}){sub 2}(HPO{sub 3}){sub 2}(C{sub 2}O{sub 4})] has been hydothermally synthesized and its structure determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure consists of neutral manganese phosphite layers, [Mn(HPO{sub 3})]{sub i}nfinity, formed by MnO{sub 6} octahedra and HPO{sub 3} units, cross-linked by the oxalate moieties. The organic cations occupy the middle of the 8-membered one-dimensional channels. Magnetic studies indicate weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Mn{sup 2+} ions. - Abstract: A new antiferromagnetic three-dimensional inorganic-organic hybrid compound, [C{sub 2}N{sub 2}H{sub 10}][Mn{sub 2}{sup II}(OH{sub 2}){sub 2}(HPO{sub 3}){sub 2}(C{sub 2}O{sub 4})] has been prepared hydrothermally. The compound has neutral manganese layers pillared by oxalate units. The neutral manganese layers are shown here. Display Omitted
